Altstore is not available in the usa. Make's sense, fascist capitalist company. However I did find this

In the U.S., the Department of Justice filed an antitrust lawsuit against Apple last year, but the case is ongoing and alternative app stores on the iPhone remain unsupported there.

    Thanks to macrumors.com

In case you didn't know, Android allows you install apps outside of the google app store. Freetube as an example. Apple typically doesn't let you install anything outside of their app store which usually extorts the authors for money.

I found a replacement for Reddit, it's called Lemmy. Lemmy.world is part of the Fediverse. I'm a bit late, but here it is for someone else to stumble upon. Lemmy.world is linked to this article.

    enter image description here

    Here's an except from Wikipedia:

The Fediverse (commonly shortened to fedi)[2][3][4] is a collection of social networking services that can communicate with each other (formally known as federation) using a common protocol. Users of different websites can send and receive status updates, multimedia files and other data across the network. The term Fediverse is a portmanteau of federation and universe.[5]

The majority of Fediverse platforms are based on free and open-source software, and create connections between servers using the ActivityPub protocol. Some software still supports older federation protocols as well, such as OStatus, the Diaspora protocol and Zot. Diaspora* is the only actively developed software project classified under the original definition of Fediverse that does not support ActivityPub.[6][7]

One of my favorite apps is freetube, I share it with everybody. I have no idea how freetube works but ive noticed that I often had to find a update to make it working again. Well I recently stumbled upon a nightly build in the AUR repository, its been a huge help.

The FreeTube repository is currently setup to create binaries automatically every time a change is made to our development branch. With this setup, you can try out new changes right away instead of having to wait for a full release. This is doable thanks to GitHub Actions.

A feature-rich dictionary lookup program, supporting multiple dictionary formats (StarDict/Babylon/Lingvo/Dictd) and online dictionaries, featuring perfect article rendering with the complete markup, illustrations and other content retained, and allowing you to type in words without any accents or correct case.

    goldendict.org

As someone who's vocabulary is limited, golden dictionary has been a life saver for my work. Even if the query can't find a definition it will surely find a Wikipedia link.

Have you ever bought a sd card and found that it just doesn't work out of the box? Well its news to me, I have a bunch of 99 cent sd cards that never work. It turns out that sd card fraud is has been going on for 20 years. Id like to also point out that those cheap Solid state drives are fake too.

F3 will check your drives to verify if they are fake or the real deal. Cool app.

I don't know if this is common knowledge, but I'm old asf and take a fuck load of anti depressants. (not a sponsor)

Anyways, if you want to safely download torrents without the risk of visiting sketchy torrent websites then the qbit search plugin fills that need. The qbit search plugin stays up to date with trusted sources. I suppose this is common knowledge but a year ago I was still visiting websites that made my skin crawl. I hope this helps someone

My favorite thing about Bit Warden is that it is free! It's worth mentioning that it is compatible with windows, linux and android.

Bitwarden is the best password manager for securely storing, managing, and sharing sensitive online data such as passwords, passkeys, and credit cards.
